Celebrate the Baroque Era in Music: Dive into the Versatility of SWAM String Sections. Observe Andrea as he effortlessly shifts between articulations, all without relying on traditional samples. A musical journey through the grandeur of Baroque.
The six Brandenburg Concertos were composed by Johann Sebastian Bach around 1720 and serve not only as works of art but also as a showcase of virtuosic techniques from the early 18th century. I have selected one of these concertos, No. 3 - BWV 1048, for strings and basso continuo, as a splendid example to demonstrate the virtuosic capabilities of the SWAM String Sections.
In this virtual environment, all SWAM String Sections are brought to life using advanced Audio Modeling technologies such as Ambiente Room Simulator and Spazializer. These cutting-edge tools meticulously replicate the acoustic reflections within the room, faithfully following its geometry and absorption characteristics.
Instrumentation and Arrangement:
Violin I, II, III
Viola I, II, III
Cello I, II, III
Double Bass (Contrabass) and Continuo (Harpsichord)
Each instrumental part has been assigned to a small section of SWAM String Sections.
All sections are arranged along a semicircular arc, starting from the first violin to the third cello. The double basses are positioned to the right, behind the cellos. The room is of medium size with high sound absorption.
Instrumental Techniques:
Staccato: Short notes with high velocity.
Legato a due: Two overlapping notes; the first with medium velocity, the second with high velocity.
Ponticello: At 1:06, as is sometimes observed in Baroque instrumental performance, everyone shifts to 'sul ponticello.'
