On July 6th, Russia officially claimed to have destroyed two HIMARS. As proof, they published a strange video with nothing visible or clear. But the next day, the intensity of Ukrainian strikes on Russian ammunition depots only increased.
On July 11th, Ukraine destroyed one of the largest ammunition depots in Novaya Kakhovka. It is an occupied town in southern Ukraine.
An even larger explosion took place. Eyewitnesses on social networks say that the windows of houses flew out within a radius of 2 kilometers. The fact is that on the territory of this ammunition depot there were about 40 more gasoline trucks filled with fuel. All of this was destroyed in one strike by HIMARS.
Every day Ukraine destroys four to eight large targets in the Russian inner circle. This forced Russia to urgently look for a way to counter American missiles. Russia has tacitly declared a hunt for HIMARS units.
This is currently the biggest challenge to the Russian army since the beginning of the war.
If no solution is found, the Russian superiority in artillery count will be leveled. And Ukraine will gain a significant advantage on the battlefield. But will Russia be able to destroy the HIMARS?
Immediately after launching the missiles, in a few minutes, the HIMARS leaves at high speed to the rear. It is a very mobile system, so the Russians will not be able to destroy it with their missiles.
HIMARS does not stand in open terrain. The Ukrainians understand their strategic importance and hide them in special secret storage facilities. That is why even Russian "caliber" missiles will not be able to find HIMARS, as caliber cannot destroy a moving target. And HIMARS are in constant motion or are in a special shelter. HIMARS can be destroyed only by saboteurs, who will be sent to Ukrainian territory, but it is very difficult to do, because HIMARS are heavily guarded by Ukrainian special forces.
It also turned out that Russian S-400 anti-aircraft systems are not capable of shooting down HIMARS missiles. The S-400's popularity was based on propaganda and has not yet been tested in modern warfare. Its missiles fly slower than HIMARS missiles. In addition, it is likely that U.S. missiles have some kind of anti-radar coating that makes them difficult to detect. Not only that, HIMARS can also easily destroy the S-400 systems themselves. The Ukrainians have confirmed that they have already managed to destroy several S-400s.
All this shows Russia's backwardness to Western technology.
If you cannot defend yourself against HIMARS missiles, how are you going to defend yourself against nuclear weapons? Russia seems to be naked and unprotected. The S-400s have proven to be overrated.
Say hello to Turkish President Erdogan who bought the S-400 complex. It was probably the last purchase of such systems in the world.
On July 11th the United States officially confirmed that it was ready to provide Ukraine with missiles
MGM 140 army tactical missile system with the range of up to 300 km. This missile is maneuverable and has a caliber of 24 inches (610 mm).
If that happens, Ukraine will have a significant advantage over the Russian army. It will no longer matter how many artillery units Russia has. There will be nothing to shoot with. This will be a turning point in the Russian-Ukrainian war. With ATACMS missiles, Ukraine could easily destroy the Crimean bridge. By the way, watch my video on how Ukraine will destroy the Crimean bridge, and the video on how HIMARS destroy Russian logistics.
