How to Use the RANK Formula in Excel
To rank student grades or other data in Microsoft Excel, we can use the RANK formula.
To use the RANK formula, simply fill in three parameters.
The format for the RANK formula is as follows:
=RANK(number;ref;order)
or
=RANK(number,ref,order)
number: Fill in the value or data to be ranked
ref: Fill in the entire data set to be ranked. It's best to use the range/cell address in this parameter as an absolute address (with a $ sign).
order: The ranking sorting mode, filled in with 0 or 1. If filled in with 0, rank 1 has the highest value, and if filled in with 1, rank 1 has the lowest value.
