Sat.tv 1.0.2 - Filtering Channels & Infobanner
Sat.tv is a free service supplied by Eutelsat to make free satellite TV a better experience for viewers. The Sat.tv service is fully operational at the Nilesat-Eutelsat orbital position (7/8W), at Eutelsat’s 13E Hotbird position and will be deployed later on other Eutelsat satellites.
FILTERING CHANNEL LISTS BY GENRE
Sat.tv provides the genre (movie, sports, kids, etc.) for all the FTA TV channels at the Nilesat-Eutelsat orbital position. Compatible satellite receivers can use this information to do “instant filtering” to display only Childrens channels, or only Arabic drama channels, etc..
• This makes it easier to discover new channels that you may find interesting
• This makes it easier to zap through all the content available if you don’t have a particular channel in mind.
For example, if you want to watch an Arabic drama or film you can easily zap through the 100 channels that specialize in that.
Or if your children want to watch TV, set the filter on “Children”, and they can zap up and down through the list of 20 children’s channels without any danger of stumbling into news channels or a channel showing unsuitable movies.
Below are approximate number of channels at the Nilesat-Eutelsat position for some of the popular genres

IMPORTANT // When new channels start to broadcast at the Nilesat-Eutelsat position, they are automatically added to the relevant genre. For example if there is a new cooking channel it will automatically be added to the list of cooking channels. There is never any need for the TV viewer to rescan the satellites and manually identify the type of channel.

Sat.tv delivers the following detailed information in Arabic and English (or French if the program is originally French) for FTA channels
• Program name
• Thumbnail image
• Program genre (movie, children, cooking, sports, etc.)
• Start – stop time
• Year of production
• Full synopsis
• Names of actors, directors, etc.
• Age rating
ADDITIONAL INFO
• Channel filtering by genre services are free of charge
• Infobanner / extended Infobanner services are free of charge.
• Technical integration of the Sat.tv protocols is free of charge and open to all manufacturers of satellite receivers.
