The Minister of Investment or referred to as the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that,
The electric vehicle battery factory owned by PT Industri Battery Indonesia or Indonesia Battery Corporation and the LG Consortium from South Korea will soon be groundbreaking at the end of July 2021.
He said that the construction of the factory will start with the construction of a cell battery factory first.
Bahlil said, the memorandum of understanding of cooperation with the LG Consortium consisting of, LG Energy Solution, LG Chem, LG International, POSCO, and Huayou Holding, was signed in December 2020.
The investment value is estimated at US$9.8 billion or around IDR142 trillion
"CATL has also signed an M.oU with Antam worth US$5.2 billion, there is even a prospect to add more depending on the volume," said Bahlil.
Previously reported, the cell battery factory will be used for electric vehicles from Hyundai.
Menteri Investasi atau disebut sebagai Kepala Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal Bahlil Lahadalia mengungkapkan bahwa,
pabrik baterai kendaraan listrik milik PT Industri Baterai Indonesia atau Indonesia Battery Corporation dan Konsorsium LG asal Korea Selatan ,akan segera groundbreaking pada akhir Juli 2021 mendatang.
Dia menuturkan, pembangunan pabrik tersebut akan dimulai dari pembangunan pabrik baterai sel terlebih dahulu.
Bahlil mengatakan, nota kesepahaman atau memorandum of understanding kerja sama dengan Konsorsium LG yang terdiri atas, LG Energy Solution, LG Chem, LG International, POSCO, dan Huayou Holding ini, telah ditandatangani pada Desember 2020 lalu.
Nilai investasinya diperkirakan mencapai US$9,8 miliar atau sekitar Rp142 triliun.
«CATL pun sudah tanda tangan M.oU dengan Antam senilai US$5,2 miliar, bahkan ada prospek untuk nambah lagi tergantung volumenya,» kata Bahlil.
Diberitakan sebelumnya, pabrik baterai sel tersebut akan digunakan untuk kendaraan listrik dari Hyundai.
