Why did Geto snap in jujutsu kaisen ? During the beginning of season 2, it becomes evident that Geto's intention is to safeguard non-sorcerers However, a closer look reveals that he’s clearly struggling with inner conflict about the value of non-sorcerers That’s because in a remarkably brief amount he observed multiple instances where non-sorcerers attempted to destroy the world of sorcerers One of the most significant instances being the passing of Riko Amanai coupled with the star religious group's celebration of her death in front of him which is precisely why he asks “Who am I doing this for ?” Why would he protect individuals who actively strive to dismantle what he is a part of? And with Gojo's departure, his solitude triggered a rapid downward spiral So when he discovered that eliminating non-sorcerers could potentially make the world a peaceful place And after 2 little girls unjustly imprisoned for their powers Just like candle's flame, his will to safeguard non-sorcerers extinguished
