A playthrough of Takara's 1994 versus-fighter for the Nintendo Game Boy, Samurai Shodown.

Played through the single-player game as Haohmaru on the default settings.

As one of the earliest SNK Neo Geo fighters that Takara ported to the Nintendo Game Boy, this really impressed when it was first released. Obviously the graphics are nowhere near the quality of the console ports, but somehow they crammed just about every bit of playability of the arcade phenom into the tiny GB cart. All of the characters are here with their special moves intact, and they even went ahead and fleshed out the story, with new character specific cutscenes showing between each fight.

This is seriously some great stuff. It may seem unbelievable, but it really doesn't make compromises in the gameplay to smash it onto the handheld. Just like the World Heroes and King of Fighters games that were ported to Game Boy afterward, this is a top-tier Game Boy action game that shouldn't be missed.
