I recently bought a VGC VR-N76 and I've been super disappointed about the quality of the antenna. The radio is pretty good for a cheap radio, but the antennas really let it down - plugging the radio into any other 2m antenna is evidence of that.
In this video, I've bought two other cheap 2m antennas and compare them using a VNA, as well as providing some explanation of the evidence of what the tests are showing. I've got 2 stock antennas, 2 * RHD-771 and a HYS-771Q.
Amateur radio people should demand more from their suppliers - give us a smith chart or a propagation diagram, not just a pretty photo of it. We want to know what the thing will do in theory, as well as in practice!
This video is not sponsored - I selected and bought the antennas to test myself.
