Hey guys, welcome back to NGB 2.0 and in this video, I want to show you how to cut out letter in GIMP. Now to demonstrate this, first, I would like to create a new image with a transparent background. So to do that, go to 'File' and now click on 'New'.

Let the 'Width' and 'Height' of this new image be 1280 and 720. Now click on 'Advanced Options' and inside 'Fill with', you need to select 'Transparency' and now click on 'OK'. Next, let's apply the white color on top of this transparent image.

So let me drag the white color and directly apply this color on top of this transparent image. Next, you need to write some letters on top of the image. So select the 'Text Tool'.

And now let me create a text box like this. And now let me write the letter 'D' and let me change the font to 'Montserrat Heavy' and let me increase the font size to '500'. Now, I would like to create another text box.

So first, select the 'Move Tool' and now select the 'Text Tool' once again and now create another text box like this. This time, I would like to write the letter 'G' and once again, let me change the font to 'Montserrat Heavy' and let me increase the font size to '500'. Alright, now I would like to adjust the text box like this.

And I would also like to adjust this text box like this. Alright, next, what you need to do is you need to overlap these two letters together. So to do that, select the 'Move Tool'.

And now let me move the 'D' letter on the right hand side like this. And now let me move the 'G' letter on the left hand side like this. Alright, next, let's center align these two letters.

So let me select the 'Alignment Tool'. And now select the 'D' letter. And now select this option which says 'Align middle of target'.

And now select the 'G' letter. And once again, select this option which says 'Align middle of target'. Alright, now let me select the 'Move Tool'.

And now what you need to do is you need to select the 'D' text layer. And now right click. And now select this option that is 'Alpha to Selection'.

Next, you need to go to the 'Select' menu. And inside 'Select', you need to select this option that is 'Grow'. And now grow this selection by '30' pixels.

And now click on 'OK'. Next, select the 'G' text layer and simply press the 'delete' button. And now go to the 'Select' menu and click on 'None'.

Alright, so this is looking good. Next, what I would like to do is I would like to move the letter 'G' on the left hand side. So 'Move Tool' is already selected.

So let me move the 'G' letter on the left hand side like this. And now I would like to center align this 'G' letter. So let's select the 'Alignment Tool'.

And now select the 'G' letter. And now select this option that is 'Align middle of target'. Alright, so we're pretty much done.

One final thing that I would like to do is I would like to select the 'G' text layer, right click and select this option that is 'New from Visible'. And now delete the 'G' text layer and the 'D' text layer. So let me select the 'D' text layer, right click and select this option that is 'Delete Layer'.

And let me select the 'G' text layer, right click and select this option that is 'Delete Layer'. Alright, and now I can actually move both these letters together like this. So let me place it right at the center somewhere around here.

And once you're satisfied with the position of the letters, what you can do is you can go to the 'Layer' menu. And now you can select this option that is 'Layer to Image Size'. And that's it.

This is how you can cut out letter in GIMP.
