RTL SDR USB Dongle Interface to SDR Console V3.2 Software
Using a USB RTL SDR on the 27 MHz CB Band is a great way to know where to be able to work skip when it shows on the SDR waterfall display!
Apologies in advance for my personal low key (boring) voice over, but try to forgive me. I can only get better as I get more experienced, hopefully!
I had a query by a member of my facebook Group - / allradiosdraction
on why his cheap RTL USB SDR Dongle would not work on the excellent SDR Sofware - SDR Console V3.2.
Like all SDR software it is sometimes hard to get it working until you have some experience with it or have actually read the manual like most dont!
Fortunately the SDR Software and Hardware work to perfection pulling in signals on my main antenna, a base loaded mobile whip on the shed!
I own different CB Radio classics including Tram, CPI, SBE, Cobra, Texas Ranger, DAK, Stoner, and my favourite, the Uniden PC122 CB built into a HAM Icom IC-701! I have a log book somewhere that counts near a hundred different countries that I have contacted on CB radios inside the 27MHz Citizens Band 40 Channel Government allocation in last 50 years.
So I hope you enjoy my efforts below as its purely for a hobby!
