Insulet makes the Omnipod -- a tubeless insulin pump worn directly on the body. No tubes. No wires. It is the most popular automated insulin delivery device in the world, and revenue was growing over thirty percent a year.

Then the manufacturing crisis hit.

In March, Insulet disclosed that some pods had a tear in the internal tubing. Insulin was leaking inside the device instead of reaching the patient. The FDA issued a Class One recall -- the most serious kind. Two months later, a second correction. Same failure mode. Same factory. Seven million pods affected.

The stock dropped from two hundred thirty-six dollars to one hundred forty-six -- a thirty-eight percent decline. Multiple securities class actions have been filed.

But here is the activist question: revenue is still growing over thirty percent. The product works for millions of patients. This is an operations failure, not a demand failure. Operations failures are fixable. The question is whether the board fixes it before the litigation costs overwhelm the growth.
