Are phone updates necessary or are they okay?
I decided to make this video after some comments I received about phone updates. Some users claimed that phone updates are harmful, slow down phones, or even constitute planned obsolescence. My opinion is a bit different. Yes, these kinds of updates do slow down older phones a bit, but they also make your phone more stable and secure against external factors thanks to security updates.
Of course, these updates may not be necessary in a limited scenario. However, if we ignore this very small and narrow usage area, I believe updates are important. Updates on both Android and iOS make the phone more secure, and they also bring some new features and improvements.
There's also a side to these updates for tablets. Tablets also receive these updates. Since we don't use these devices for every task like phones, as long as the device is usable, updates may not be as important as those on phones. I'm saying they may not be, but this can vary depending on usage scenarios. So, if your tablet is receiving updates, I recommend updating it as well.
Considering that we use our phones today not only for voice and text communication, but also for opening our doors, starting our cars, and conducting e-Government transactions, the importance of security and operating system updates becomes even more evident.
