This is the Delux M800. It looks exactly like a viper ultimate. Is light, has impressive specs, and most importantly…. It only costs 40 dollars! So the question is, should you buy it?
Lets start off with the design. Well, theres not much to say here except that its a Viper ultimate lookalike. Its wireless, with a USB c port on the front, has RGB on the back, and has rubber on the sides, which is better than the Viper Mini. Its got 2 thumb buttons on the left, a dpi switching button behind the scroll wheel, and the other buttons all where you expect them to be. Theres RGB behind the logo on the back of the mouse too, so if you think you were missing out on that, well you arent. Although Ill probably leave it off to save power.
In terms of build, its surprisingly good. It definitely has a few creaks and rattles here and there, like a retired rugby player, and the sensor rattle noise is notable, but its quite well put together for what it is.
So what is it?
Well lets move on to the performance side of things, shall we?
Grip wise, arguably one of the most essential aspects of any gaming mouse, its identical reproduction of the curves of the viper serious it takes clear inspiration from does unsurprisingly well. Being the same also makes it easy to recommend too. If you like the Viper, your gonna like this. If you dont know what that feels like, go to an electronics shop that has gaming mic for you to try on display, and you most definitely will be able to see whether the Viper is right for you. It is however slightly smaller than the Viper Ultimate, and slightly larger than the viper mini, so it slots in nice and easy.
In words though, since Im sure some of you are SUPERRR lazy, the M800 has a generally symmetrical design, with grooves on the sides and tops, that arent super deep so its clearly more for a claw style grip. For my hands, which are about 174 by 98 MM in size, its a clear Claw grip mouse, and because the mouse hump isnt too steep it should be fine for palm style grips for smaller hands as well. Heres the mouse beside the G305 and basilisk hyperspeed to give u an understanding of what its sizing is like.
The clicks are also excellent on this, with the two main important clicks being Kailh GM3.0 Red switches. They are even throughout, extremely crisp feeling, and very very satisfying even after a few weeks of use. Dare I say better than the industry standard Omrons? IMO, they are an upgrade over the Viper ones Ive tried, and thats saying alot. Its quite evenly weighted throughout as well, unlike the side clicks, which feel much cheaper and not as satisfying, although the travel is more than Omron switches, so prepared to workout your fingers slightly more. I guess the main 2 switches are the most important, but still, the side buttons definitely feel underwhelming. The scroll wheel is nice too, quite light but well balanced, witha nice rubber grips, and a satisfying click, so thats all good.
Internally, the M800DB is excellent as well. This mouse comes with one of two sensor. I chose the PAW3335 version, and you should too, since its only a couple dollars pricier and substantially better. This sensor is pretty much a lower power version of the PMW3389 “PERFECT” sensor, and once again, for those toxic silvers in the back, if you CANT AIM WITH IT, YOU CANT AIM. However, apparently RTINGS.com says that the M800 has a very inconsistent sensor, whatever that means, and its cliick latency is high. I personally couldnt tell though and it should be okay.
