Google Nest Protect in Sub Zero Temperature Test & Nest APP test will the APP wake you???
I had a power surge last week when a drunk hit the telephone pole in front of my house. That resulted in a power surge the went racing to my outdoor garage. Which resulted in an outlet surging and catching on fire the plastic outlet cover. Which in turn dropped little plastic fire bombs onto my work bench that started another fire. If not for the bottles of water I had on the table that melted and doused the fire out, it was godsend to say indeed. My detector went off but no one heard it at 300am. So I researched WIFI smoke detectors that will alert you to a fire via an APP. NEST was the only one but failed on all my tests to notify me after purchase. But on the plus side the smoke detector works great in sub zero temps. We did try one more experiment. My daughter put the google assistant in the garage. It would hear the nest smoke detector and send her an alert it heard a smoke detector sound in the house. Also the APP does not even have an option for the "Garage" to say it out oud. They will need to work on the APP more.
