Iphone 11 pro max vs Sony ZV-1 (1200$ vs 900$)
Alright alright alright ! This Sony ZV-1 is a big disappointment and I am not the only one thinking that.
Here are the pros:
Compact & light
great zoom range 24-70mm
Fast lens f1.8-2.8 (f4.8-7.5 equivalent)
Sony Picture profile
Great Autofocus
Flip out screen
Better bokeh than iphone
Here are the cons :
Terrible battery life
No grip at all
Hard to hold in vlog style
Can't take the sd card and battery out when a quick release plate is attached
LCD screen brightness is too low
No headphones jack (to monitor your audio)
Crops in 4k
Crops with normal stabilisation
Crops even more with active stabilisation (30mm equivalent)
Crops even more more with 4k and active Stab
Bokeh effect just opens the max aperture
Iphone 11 audio is better... far better
Expensive...800$
My conclusion
The negatives don't outweigh the positives of this camera.
The battery life is simply terrible I still don't understand why they didn't give us a bigger battery while creating a bigger battery grip at the same time.
The omitted headphone jack for a vlogging camera is inexplicable
The crop factor when shooting in 4k and with active IBIS is way too narrow for vlogging
But the biggest problem has to be the placement of the 1/4" screw mount. You cannot take the battery out nor the SD card without having to remove the quick release plate.
And that alone makes it a terrible camera for home recording or vlogging.
