For one reason or another you might need or want to unpair your Xbox controller from your console. It’s really easy to do and in this short video you'll learn how to disconnect your Xbox controller with your console. With a laptop or PC nearby, plug a USB cable into the Xbox controller. Then plug the other end into the computer.
Locate the sync button on the top of the controller and press and hold it for a few seconds. Then unplug the USB cable from the controller. Now when I turn on the controller the power button just blinks and doesn’t turn on my Xbox meaning it’s currently not connected to any console. And that’s how to unpair an Xbox One controller.
