Because of that, USB-over-network tools that expect a true USB device (for example VirtualHere/UTN servers) won’t detect it, although some programs (e.g., *Rufus*) can still see and use a mounted VHD as a target. If you need something that truly appears as a USB device to the host, consider using a physical USB drive, USB-over-IP solutions, a Raspberry Pi in USB gadget mode, or dedicated USB device-emulation tools.
