DIY Garden Chair
If there is a canopy for relaxation in the garden, then it would be desirable to put a comfortable chair in it. And in this video we will tell you how to make a garden chair with your own hands.
Naturally, for self-assembly of a garden chair, the best material is wood. We will need to prepare:
· Boards 100 by 50 millimeters. They will go to the frame of the chair.
· Boards 120 by 28. They are needed to make seats.
The purchased wood will need to be cut to pre-determined sizes: for the racks, seat and backrests. The exact dimensions and number of elements can be found in the screenshot. Or in my personal Telegram channel. If you have everything you need at hand, then we proceed directly to the assembly procedure:
· Initially, the racks are prepared. For this, individual elements are fixed to each other with screws.
· It is also necessary to make holes in the upper part of the racks with a diameter of twenty-five or thirty millimeters. To solve this problem, use a special Forstner drill. Naturally, of the appropriate size.
· The next step is to attach a stop board to the posts, which will later be used to rest the seat of the garden chair. The recommended height to the top edge of the support bar is 430 millimeters.
· The second post is assembled in the same way. After that, they are fastened together with fixing boards that are in the same plane as the support bars.
· As a result, you should get a seat frame with the following dimensions: 400 by 600 millimeters.
An additional crossbar is installed exactly in the middle of the frame length. It not only provides additional rigidity to the structure, but also guarantees that the seat will not sag under the weight of a person.
Next, the seat is assembled. The same board with a thickness of 28 millimeters is used. It remains to assemble the back. It is fastened in the manner of the seat frame. With the initially selected dimensions, you should get a rectangle with a width of 540 and a length of 600 millimeters. Naturally, the back is decorated with boards (thickness 28 millimeters). It is important not to forget that the bottom row is not attached and remains free. This will allow you to fix the back to our garden chair with screws in the best possible way, beautifully and at the right angle.
The furniture is ready. It remains to place it under a canopy to enjoy your rest. Of course, you can use pillows or small mattresses. And do not forget that all the boards must be well processed to eliminate the possibility of splinters and other troubles.
