How to use HLOOKUP Function in Excel
The HLOOKUP function in Excel searches for a value in the top row of an array and return the value from a row you specify.
In this video, I'll show you how to use the HLOOKUP function in Excel.
In Excel HLOOKUP formula, the “H” stands for “Horizontal” and its also called as Horizontal Lookup. If you want to search a value based on column or vertically then you can use the VLOOKUP formula in Excel.

HLOOKUP IN EXCEL 2019 (365):
SYNTAX OF HLOOKUP in EXCEL
=HLOOKUP(lookup_value, table_array, row_index_num, [range_lookup])
ARGUMENTS OF HLOOKUP in Excel
lookup_value: (compulsory) – It is the value or text to be found in the first row of the table.
table_array: (compulsory) – it is the array or cell range to search in the table.
row_index_num: (compulsory) – it is the row number, starting 1 from lookup_value column.
[range_lookup]: (optional) – it is the logical value, such as:
TRUE or 1 - Approximate match (It will search the closest value and assumes that the first column is sorted)
FALSE or 0 - Exact match (It will search the exact value in the first column)
