Gothic 1 (PS5/Console) - Infinite Permanent Potion Glitch & Exploit
Forget spending Learning Points (LP). This is the definitive method for getting max stats using any permanent stat-boost potion. This exploit allows you to reuse the same bottle indefinitely to build a God-tier character.
Note: You must acquire the permanent potions first. For example, the Mana potion can be obtained by delivering the letter to the Fire Mages in the Old Camp. Other permanent potions can be found throughout the world or purchased from specific merchants once available.
THE PROTOCOL (PS5):
POSITION: Stand at the edge of still water (lakes/ponds). Do not use moving rivers.
DESYNC: Walk off the edge into deep water and INSTANTLY hit the Touchpad to open your inventory. If you are treading water with the menu open, you've successfully desynced the world state.
THE TRIPLE-INPUT: Highlight your permanent potion and hit X + D-Pad Up + Circle at the exact same time.
X = Uses the item.
D-Pad Up = Triggers movement (WASD logic).
Circle = Forces the "Action/Dive" priority.
RESET: Swim back to shore. You will see the potion still in your hand. Hit R2 to equip a weapon—this clears the hand model and puts the potion back in your bag.
LOCK-IN: Perform a Hard Save immediately after every success.
WHY THIS WORKS:
The PS5 D-pad is hard-mapped to the original WASD movement keys. By hitting the D-pad and Circle simultaneously, you force a "Physics Interrupt" that overrides the item-use script before the game can remove the potion from your inventory.
