Steam Returns to Vermont
In August 1998, Machines of Iron traveled to Vermont to follow a special excursion as New York, Susquehanna & Western 2-8-2 #142 returned steam to Vermont when it powered passenger trains between Burlington and Middlebury. It was the first public excursion headed by steam power in Vermont since 1983, and it was reason for a celebration. Join us in the Green Mountain State.
