What is hitting Earth? Join me LIVE for a special edition of Sun and Space News as we watch fireballs, bolides, meteor activity, cometary debris and possible asteroid fragments entering Earth’s atmosphere.
During this live broadcast, we will examine recent fireball reports, witness videos, satellite observations, meteor-camera footage and unusual atmospheric events from around the world.
We will look at:
Bright fireballs and bolides reported over populated areas
Possible cometary debris and asteroid fragments
Persistent meteor trains and fragmentation events
Satellite detections from instruments such as GOES GLM
American Meteor Society reports and witness observations
Solar activity, space weather and other breaking space news
The difference between meteors, fireballs, bolides and space debris
Whether recent events are connected or simply unrelated atmospheric entries
Not every bright object is unusual, and not every cluster of reports indicates a debris field. During the stream, I will separate confirmed observations from speculation and explain what the available evidence actually supports.
