Gears of War 3 Beta info + Interview and summary (READ DESCRIPTION)

The Gears of War 3 Beta starts in Mid-April IF YOU HAVE THE EPIC EDITION OF BULLETSTORM. According to Kotaku.com, people with the Epic Edition of Bulletstorm will get the beta MONTHS before everybody else. It is confirmed they will get it early, although "months" does not seem to be stated anywhere official as of yet.
The final game product will be out worldwide on Tuesday September 20th. September 22nd in Japan.
4 maps will appear in the Beta. 2 have already been selected, while the other 2 will be selected by voters. There are 4 maps to choose from on the Gears Of War Facebook Page - http://apps.facebook.com/opinionpolls...
3 Gametypes will be playable in the Beta; Team Deathmatch, Capture The Leader, and King of the Hill.
-- Team Deathmatch is not your standard TDM setup where it's first to X amount of kills. It's actually similar to Execution/Warzone, where one team wins by eliminating the other team. The catch? Each team comes with a pool of respawns. Once that pool dries up, your team is in elim-mode; You die and you're out. Matches are played on a first to 2 rounds basis.
-- Capture The Leader combines Submission with Guardian/Assassination. You must down the enemy team's leader, and then carry them to your base/capture zone. The first team to do so wins the round.
-- King of the Hill is actually a combination of King of the Hill and Annex from Gears of War 2. The main difference? As the match gets closer to the end, the hill will move faster, causing more hectic match alignments as teams struggle to keep pace.
You can unlock the Golden Retro Lancer and Thrashball Outfit Cole character skin by completing specific tasks during the beta;
-- "The only way to unlock a Gold Retro Lancer in Gears of War 3 will be to play the beta. First, you'll need to play 90 matches to unlock it in the beta. Then, you'll need to kill 100 players with it. Do so and it's yours when Gears 3 ships." ~ Kotaku
--"Maybe easier to acquire will be the Thrashball Cole skin. You'll need to play 70 matches in the beta to unlock Cole's Cougars uniform, then play with it 13 times to unlock it in Gears of War 3 retail. Why those numbers? They add up to Cole's player number, of course." ~ Kotaku
