You need the Shutter Encoder program, its free. Also the Dash Cam is amazing if you're interested its on Amazon - https://amzn.to/4rh9Iik (affiliate)
So, you just pulled some killer footage off your dash cam or security camera, you fire up DaVinci Resolve to chop it up, and... nothing. The file won't drag in, or it just shows up as "Media Offline." It is a total pain in the neck. I recently ran into this with a .TS file from my dash cam. DaVinci is a beast of a program, but it can be super picky about file types.
In this quick video, I’m going to show you the workaround I use. We are using a free tool called Shutter Encoder. It takes those weird file formats that DaVinci hates and swaps them over to a standard .MP4 that works perfectly. No watermarks, no expensive software, just a simple conversion so you can get back to editing.
If you are tired of fighting with codecs and file extensions, this is the fastest way to solve it. This works for .TS files, .MOV issues, and pretty much anything else that refuses to load. Let's get this fixed so we can get back to the fun part.
