Chorus Review – Buy, Budget, or Scrap?
Recently, you could watch a preview and livestream of Chorus, a space combat game from FISHLABS and Deep Silver that you can play on both old and new consoles. In this game, the goal is to explore space in a narrative-driven way. You play as a feisty woman named Nara, who takes control of her spaceship Forsaken. Then you fight to free the universe from a mysterious cult, mysteriously called The Circle. The game starts off rather negatively, as you witness a massive massacre. And then your adventure begins. You immediately know what you're doing it all for.

Now the question is, of course, is the game awesome? Previews are all well and good. But there's always that proverbial caveat. Have the things that weren't working out in the preview been fixed, or not? Huey and Skate are both crazy about space, sci-fi, and a good, challenging blast. They spent a weekend playing Forsaken. How did they like the game? What was the story like, how was the progression, and how spacey were the environments? They also looked at—and this is very important in a space combat game—the blasting. Did it shoot well? Did the spaceship feel comfortable in the hand? Could you perform stunts in space? Or was it all pretty linear gameplay with a spaceship on rails?
