Duman, the tomcat from Duisburg, hasn't come home for eight days. On the second day, a neighbor saw him on a roof, and since the following day, he's almost certainly been sitting in a tree. When the fire department rushed to help and placed a ladder against the tree, Duman jumped onto the neighboring tree. So, the tomcat can't be saved with a ladder. And the turntable ladder can't be used in the garden. On day 5, we were asked for help, and by midday on the sixth day, Dustin from Tiernothilfe Essen, Tom, and I arrived on site. And before anyone starts speculating again about why they've been waiting so long: Duman's people have done everything they can, tried it themselves, contacted the fire department, and made phone calls – until they finally contacted us. Many people give up when even the fire department can't help. Duman's people haven't.

The tree he's currently sitting on can only be climbed to a certain height. And at that height, Duman can't be reached by hand or with a net. Therefore, in consultation with his family, the only option left is to use the telescopic pole. Of course, this isn't without risk. But leaving him in the tree for several more days would be much more dangerous.

Duman is back home just minutes after his rescue. Food and water are only available in small portions. His digestive system shouldn't be overtaxed. A vet visit will also be arranged immediately.
