Approval workflows in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central are designed to automate and streamline the approval process for various business documents such as purchase orders, sales orders, invoices, credit memos, and more.
The workflow involves defining a series of approval steps, assigning approvers to each step, and setting conditions for automatic approval or rejection. When a document requires approval, it is submitted to the workflow, and the system automatically routes it to the designated approvers based on the defined approval hierarchy.
Approvers can then review the document, make comments or changes, and either approve or reject it. If the document is rejected, it is sent back to the previous step for further review or correction. Once all required approvers have approved the document, it is automatically processed in the system and becomes available for further processing.
Approval workflows help ensure that business processes comply with company policies and regulations, reduce errors and delays, and improve operational efficiency.
