Just before the commission's arrival, Dyrokol (Sergey Filippov), the head of the first section of the Zarya state farm, discovered a cow half-dead from exhaustion on his farm and ordered it sent immediately to the meat processing plant. But the meat-packing plant refused to take the emaciated cow. So Dyrokol dumped her on his neighbor Koleno (Mikhail Pugovkin) in the third section. While Dyrokol and Koleno squabbled over the poor animal, Lyusya Prokopenko picked it up. The young milkmaid's cow became a record-breaker. At the exhibition, both bosses gave interviews in unison about their achievements. But then they were caught by telegrams from the State Control Service.
