Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is an action-adventure video game starring Peter Parker, the web-slinger created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and Miles Morales. Developed by Insomniac Games for PlayStation, players can swing, jump, and use new abilities to traverse New York City, with the option to quickly switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales to experience different stories and epic new powers, all while facing the iconic villain Venom, who threatens to destroy their lives, their homes, and their loved ones.
But Venom won't be Spider-Man's only major archenemy. The PS5 exclusive boasts a vast roster of Spider-Man villains, including, as far as we know, the ruthless Kraven the Hunter, the unpredictable Lizard, and many others yet to be revealed. These villains, along with thugs of varying difficulty, will need to be defeated in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as players travel through a New York City larger than ever before, allowing them to visit two new boroughs (Brooklyn and Queens) and iconic locations like Coney Island.
One of the biggest new features is the gliders, gliding devices that can be activated at any time while airborne. Gliding and swinging complement each other perfectly, with the latter providing speed and altitude to then use the former. Furthermore, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 follows in the footsteps of previous games in the series, weaving together small stories that connect the missions scattered across the map.
