Jack the Ripper in Italian (introduction)"about JTR"
I am Joe Palermo, unknown artist and near forgotten hero (https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime.... I've long had a passion for films and documentaries, and have been working mainly in independent low-budget productions, but have never enjoyed following commercial marketing advisors who'd never made a movie or project outside of a hypothetical and often unrealistic perspective.
STORY:
I would like to do this documentary about Jack the Ripper with some new twists using a few personal touches. I grew up with movies such as "Taxi driver", "Once upon a time in the west" and "Blade runner", so my view of relevant details in a production is crucial in using images and atmosphere to tell this visual story. I have always had a strong passion about this particular story and often find myself wandering around Whitechapel in East London looking for further inspiration.
What We Need & What You Get
The reason we need you help (read: investment) is simply to allow for the relevant costumes, actors and extras, transport, make up artist, crew members, rental of equipment, i.e. camera, lights, van, etc.; forensic expert, locations and authorisations, translation into other languages, etc. Once completed we also need to cover film festival submissions; with my previous projects (and quite a few with Nick), I have been officially selected for over 100 film festivals all around the world. Probably, the most successful production is “Running through the city” where we reached the final of FIGERA film festival of Portugal to name one of the many prestigious film festivals for which we need to pay the submissions fees in order to get the production as widely seen as possible. I think we can do something special here, which may not be “everybody's cup of tea” but, then again, what original approach is?
With my extensive experience in the field I always try to do original independent works which is often hard when people simply want "fast food".

Risks & Challenges
As the subject of the documentary has been covered a thousand times, people will undoubtedly look critically at the finished piece, but in taking a fresh approach to the story we need the suggested budget to achieve a result to match our vision. I had a clear vision as I wrote the piece based on my research around Whitechapel; however the area is no longer what it was with new buildings springing up constantly, making this a more modern version. I am positive that people will follow us as we aim to obtain a good result in completing this vision.

We welcome any kind of help to whoever would like to be on set as an extra or want to have experience as crew member. We really need access to locations and costumes as well as forensic material and the expertise to go along with that. Also, we would love if there is any doctor or psychologist who would give us half of their day to explain the possibly dynamic, but feel free to contact us and we will consider any possible contribution.
