Compared to previous models in this branch, the KV-90 stands out not only for its powerful armor but also for its powerful firepower. The tank is equipped with a 130mm cannon with a two-round drum and a reverse autoloader. A full reload takes 28 seconds, with 4 seconds between shots, and reloading takes 13.1–14.9 seconds. A second shot after the first is practically useless.
The KV-90's accuracy isn't perfect, but it's not bad either. Aiming time is long, and stabilization leaves much to be desired, which is acceptable for a heavy tank of this tier. The gun's elevation angles are also acceptable.
The standard shells are armor-piercing, with 243 mm of penetration and a velocity of 1,030 m/s. The secondary shells are also armor-piercing, with 290 mm of penetration and the same velocity.
The KV-90's armor is impressive: the frontal hull has a reduced thickness of 310 mm, the sides 315 mm, and the turret front is approximately 295 mm. The most vulnerable areas are the turret roof hatch (150 mm) and the gun mantlet (approximately 200 mm at the muzzle), but they are difficult to hit.
Despite the weight reduction to 90 tons, mobility has not improved. The maximum speed is 25 km/h with a power output of 9.5 hp per ton, which is very low. Turning on the spot is also not ideal.
The tank's concealment is poor, but its visibility has improved to 380 meters. For a Tier 9 tank, this is not the best result.
The KV-90 is a powerful and well-protected tank. It can effectively repel attacks and inflict significant damage. Despite its low mobility and poor camouflage, it remains a formidable force for Russia and the Soviet Union.
