Demonstration illustrating what happens when you leave a nerd with a license of LabView, an Arduino, some stepper motors, and an Etch-a-Sketch. My CNC etch-a-sketch system uses LabView to analyze and covert a jpg image into a continuous line drawing, then command an Arduino to drive the stepper motors coupled to the Etch-a-Sketch. The original design used a National Instruments USB DAQ, but then I realized I could save a few hundred bucks by using an Arduino instead.
