4 simultaneous gene edits!! Base editing in BEAM-201 (Beam Therapeutics)
Beam Therapeutics announced this week of their first allogenic CAR-T base editing development candidate, BEAM-201, so i thought i would check out their data!
Here i discuss the concept of base editing and how it is being used by Beam Therapeutics for their therapy BEAM-201, whereby they induce 4 simultaneous gene edits in T-cells that can be used in CAR-T therapy for the treatment of T-ALL (T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia). The edits enable the T-cells to be universally used.
