An homage to one of the greatest comedians in history. The background for Benny Hill's life of comedy and tragedy was established by his birth between the Great Wars to a couple of clowns. Hill's grandfather and father were both former circus performers.
Originally named Alfred Hawthorne Hill, he subsequently adopted the moniker "Benny" in homage to his all-time favorite comic, Jack Benny. Loved by many and despised by others, Benny Hill went on to become one of the twentieth century's biggest comedians. Hill was the master of innuendo and slapstick humor. As the 1980s came to an end, jokes that had formerly been embraced by society began to be seen as offensive and risky. After his show was canceled, Benny Hill changed forever.
