Ubuntu Unity Remix 20.04 : Keeping Unity Alive!
Hey Guys! Welcome to XPSTECH! In todays video, we will look at a Brand New Remix Distro of Ubuntu called Ubuntu Unity Remix 20.04. It is Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with Unity 7.5 desktop. Unity was the primary desktop of Ubuntu for 6 years till 2017 when Ubuntu was replaced with Gnome DE. It was the biggest shocker of 2017 as there was a real hype around Unity 8, the next iteration of Unity which was slated to release. But unfortunately after canonical left Unity, Unity 8 was also discontinued.
But if you are a Unity fan and want to enjoy the awesomeness of Unity, this new distro might be the perfect choice.
Ubuntu Unity Remix is a very early project and not an official flavour of Unity. Their website was launched just today i.e 05 Jun 2020 and twitter account was created last month. So its very early days and only time will tell how this project turns out in future. As a Unity fan, I have my fingers crossed.
