Origin & Essence:
From the void between carnival tents and shadowed graveyards, The Obsidian Oracle emerges. Neither living nor truly dead, it is the midnight seer who peers into fates too dark for mortal clowns. Ancient, shrouded in an endless charcoal cloak, the Oracle’s face is masked with splatters of liquid black, as if reality itself cracked and bled upon them. Runic markings—written in lost tongues and lotus glyphs—coil across the Oracle’s inky skin; their eyes, polished obsidian, reflect nothing but suffering and prophecy.
In the Oracle’s presence, truth is agony and knowledge is a curse. Those who seek answers gaze into its eyes at their peril—what they learn, they cannot unsee. Speaking in riddles, whispers, and broken chant, the Oracle is both guide and tormentor, tempting the lost to probe the secrets of death, fate, and their own dark hearts.
Appearance:
Face: Deep black, ink-splattered, sometimes streaked like tear tracks. Eyes like cut obsidian gemstones, cold and glimmering.
Hood: Swallows the head and shoulders. Lotus petals, nearly imperceptible, are patterned along the edge or layered faintly among the runes.
Markings: Twisted lotus and occult runes creep across the cheeks, forehead, and neck.
Aura: Mist swirls at their feet; ghostly hands or roots reach up toward them.
Hands: Clawed, inky, sometimes clutching a mirror or black lotus flower.
Symbolism
The Obsidian Oracle is the card of forbidden knowledge, hard truths, and inner darkness. Meeting the Oracle isn’t about passing judgment, but about confrontation; it is a test to see if you can face the most twisted corners of yourself and what lies beyond the veil.
