PIR Sensors are called with so many different names like PIR sensor, PIR motion sensor,|motion detector, passive infrared sensor, Arduino motion Sensor, human detection sensor, etc.
PIR SENSOR, PIR stands for the Passive Infrared Sensor, PIR SENSOR is most commonly known as the motion sensor. PIR sensor is specially designed for humans and animals detection. PIR sensors are very frequently used in automatic lighting systems, security projects, etc. The PIR sensor, like the one you can see in the image, can be easily used with Arduino and other microcontrollers as well. This Tutorial explains completely the PIR and its components, In this tutorial, you will also learn how to interface PIR sensor with Arduino and how to write a basic program using Arduino to detect a human.
