If your washing machine is overflowing, there is no need to replace it! Often, a simple do-it-yourself fix will be enough to repair the problem and get your washing machine back in working order.

In this video, I will show you how to easily and quickly diagnose what could be causing the overflowing:

Washing machine hose could either be plugged or have a hole in it. The hose uses air pressure to signal when the drum is full of water to tell the machine to shut off the water supply. If it is blocked or if there is a hole in the tubing, it cannot perform its function correctly. The hose can be replace for $5-$10.

Washing machine pressure switch is broken. If the hose works correctly, than blowing into it should trigger the pressure switch. It if does not, we can replace the switch for ~$25.

The hose could have fallen off the switch. If both the hose and the pressure switch work correctly, it’s likely that your hose became disconnected from the switch. You can use a hose clamp to secure the connection.
