If it's still too expensive, leave the shell stone, don't build early game shooting floor and minimize the towers. Or, build it on modded :)

Raid Cost:
These statistics are pretty useless as the cost could fluctuate dramatically depending on a multitude of factors. Giving away the cheapest path only helps offliners. Trust that it's well designed or test it yourself.
