A somewhat hidden feature of Genealogy Assistant lets you instantly convert text from uppercase to title case with a keyboard shortcut.
I'm building out some DNA trees on Ancestry and researching Ida Lillian Del Toso, who was born in England.
I searched for her record at the UK General Register Office and found the piece of information I was looking for — her mother's maiden name of Pickavance.
I copied the surname, and heading back to Ancestry, I added a mother for Ida Lillian. When I pasted in the text I copied, it was in all uppercase.
Instead of retyping it, I just pressed the Genealogy Assistant keyboard shortcut — Shift and the Down Arrow — which instantly converted the text to title case. You can also use Shift and the Up Arrow to convert text to all uppercase.
This works across every website supported by Genealogy Assistant and is just one of hundreds of features that can help you save time in your family history research.
