Our story begins with a family struggling to survive in a poor neighborhood, and Filiz, who has become almost a mother figure to the family... Since their mother left, Filiz has cared for her five younger siblings, despite their alcoholic father, Fikri, and lives life without complaint. Like Filiz, her siblings, never despondent, learned to face their problems head-on, strong and resilient. Filiz's eldest sister, a year younger than her, is the intellectually exceptional Rahmet; her younger brother, Hikmet, is already experiencing a difficult forbidden love; another sister, Kiraz, with a kind heart; her younger brother, Fikret; and the youngest, 1.5-year-old Ismet.
