This is a Sheet Metal tutorial of SOLIDWORKS. this explains how to convert any object into a flat sheet. for that Flatten command of Solidworks has been used. You need to make a cut by sketching a rectangle and extruded cut command in Solidworks and then just go to SHEET METAL and then you can use FLATTEN command to convert the cylinder into a FLAT sheet.
