At the BioPharma Asia Convention 2015, Stéphane Bancel, President & Founding Chief Executive Officer, Moderna Therapeutics, USA gave us some updates on Moderna's future and the Asian market.
We asked him some key questions:
With your recent deals with the MNCs, Moderna is growing in terms of company size. Do you foresee Moderna having any physical presence in Asia? How attractive is Asia for a mRNA technology focused biotech like Moderna?
Before Moderna’s novel idea received the current amount of interest it is being showered, how difficult/easy was it to convey your novel technology to your potential partners?
For Asia to adopt such “innovation” like mRNA technology, what kind of changes must we see? A change of culture and attitude in R&D, financial incentives provided by investors and government, etc?
