The Mysterious Stolen Chest of Vanilla WoW
In a random ruined house in Elwyn, there is an object called Stolen Chest. This object could never be opened in classic, but did have a description if you moused over it, indicating it should be openable, but it was made lo longer interactable in the Cata revamp. So what was in it? Well according to some beta players, the chest was part of a level 10 warrior quest, and its key was dropped by James Clark. This key is in the game files, and even states in its description text that it opens the stolen chest. But with the removal of a lot of class quests at live, the quest that would allow you to obtain the key was also removed. But in the removal of the key and quest from the game, the devs forgot to also remove the stolen chest from the open world, so it confused many alliance players for years.
