Set Curve Normal node is the first node we see in curve write nodes section. As the section indicates, the write nodes take geometry input, writes some data and provides the geometry as output.
Set Curve normal node write the normal data of each curve point based on the options we choose. This node only writes what type of normal data each curve point needs and does not direcctly affect the normal data. This is then done using the Set curve tilt node.
Ofcourse there is an exception, with the Free type where the set curve normal node can affect any particular axis normal data on its own. This option sets its own attribute 'custom_normal'.
I have covered one example using the instance on points node where the rotation of the instanced cones are affected by the curve circles normal data at each point.
