PART 5 of the master class on how to quickly and easily sew a flared sun skirt with a petticoat. Today, we'll be starching the petticoat from this set. This section will be useful for anyone who wants to starch something, be it lingerie, curtains, decorative elements, etc. In this video, I explain in detail and demonstrate how to starch items, lingerie, and in my case, a petticoat, with my own hands.
In this part of the tutorial, I explain how to prepare a starching solution, give the proportions for different starching methods, demonstrate and explain how to properly dry and iron starched items, what to add to the solution to make the fabric shine more or prevent it from sticking to the soleplate of the iron, and what a specific item will look like after starching with the solution shown in the video.
I'll demonstrate the entire process using a cambric petticoat as an example. I had to starch it to help it hold its shape better.
