Applying thermal film to short nails | Films for manicure and pedicure
Installing the films 💜
My observations:
(Remember, this is my first time)
▪️I installed the film on a degreased surface; the stickiness must be removed.
▪️The surface should be smooth and even—no bumps or pits, just like the nails of a good nail technician.
▪️If there are a LITTLE bit of lint, don't worry—they're not visible, and the film will still stick.
▪️If the film doesn't go under the cuticle like in the video and is sticky, it's probably too big and you need a smaller size (except for trapezoid nails).
You can measure with design tape, but I just eyeballed it.
▪️If any creases appear, I peel off the film and reapply it with a taut motion. You don't have to remove the entire film; you can just remove the area where creases have appeared.
▪️You can file off the excess with a nail file, positioning it at an angle. If creases appear, position the file perpendicular to the nail. I prefer the first option; I'm so used to using sliders on the entire nail :)
I don't angle the file toward the nail; the design will wear off, leaving the nail white or even bare. 🥹
▪️I sealed the edge with a base coat. Naturally, the shape needed to be filed down to this point and all the way to the film, which is what I did. 😁
▪️I covered the entire nail with the base coat—thinly, without smoothing anything out, of course. ▪️And matte – I just love it, you know 😅
