description:
Stone masonry means building walls, houses, or other structures by joining stones together with cement or mortar.

Just like when you build something with LEGO blocks, but instead of plastic blocks, real stones are used — and they are joined with cement so they stay strong.

There are two main types of stone masonry:

---

1. Rubble Masonry

In this type, stones are used in their natural, rough shape. They are not cut perfectly.

Types of Rubble Masonry:

Random Rubble Masonry:
Stones of all shapes and sizes, placed together randomly. It looks rough and old-school.

Coursed Rubble Masonry:
Stones arranged in rows or layers, but stones are still rough.

---

2. Ashlar Masonry

In this type, stones are cut into neat, square or rectangular shapes before building. It looks very smooth and clean.

Types of Ashlar Masonry:

Ashlar Fine:
Stones perfectly cut, with thin joints — looks very clean.

Ashlar Rough Tooled:
Stones cut into shapes but with a slightly rough surface for looks.
