Honored, grateful, proud, and hopeful am I in sharing this video of the PS22 Chorus of 2023 performing at the Sandy Hook Promise 10-Year Remembrance Dinner at the Ziegeld Ballroom in NYC. Our fourth and fifth graders knew enough about the tragedy to understand the weight of their burden, and put their whole hearts and everything they had, indeed 'their best, their very best,' into this tear-jerking performance. It's not perfect (I love the end when the kids are blaming each other on stage for coming in early with the last phrase, lol!!), but it's raw heart, and I'm thoroughly proud of them.
Sending our love and thanks to Sandy Hook Promise for generously providing this footage and, more importantly, for the work you're doing to protect ALL of our children and in doing so, reminding us all that you can turn pain to power.
