MIDISWEET: MIDI Player (Audio Unit) for iOS
This is a preview of a new project in progress for 'MIDI Player AU' & 'MIDI Module AU' Audio Units for iOS.
These audio units allow to select files from any MIDI collection stored on the iOS device or clouds and forwarding (routing) the MIDI messages inside complex audio environments.
The Player can load standard MIDI Files and output the events to other devices and apps based on the channel information.
The Module can receive ( play back ) these MIDI Messages with an integrated GM (General MIDI) compatible (16 channels / 1024 polyphonic) synthesizer. The module also features a mixer environment for realtime control and can be played like a full featured tone generator module.
Note: the quality of the sound is dependent from the quality of the MIDI files and the used soundfonts. The video was captured from an iOS Simulator for iPad Pro 12.9 on the Mac. The project is currently in beta state. Release is scheduled for September, 15. 2019.
